Our Chatham Catholic Family of Parishes invites children who are in grade 2 and up, who have been baptized or have made a profession of faith in the Roman Catholic Church to register for preparation of their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
Preparation for these sacraments is a group effort which involves the family, the parish and your child’s school. You are the primary teacher of the faith for your child. Our Catholic schools play an invaluable role in helping you and the parish in your child’s faith formation. The sacraments are celebrations of the parish community therefore your child’s sacramental preparation is parish-based.
Parish catechists will be working closely with our school partners to help you prepare your child to receive these sacraments through classroom visits, retreats and an in-home program you will do with your child. This preparation will start in September and be completed after Easter.
Children who do not attend one of our Family of Parishes elementary schools will be required to attend After School Faith Formation classes.
